Photo of the Day: Panorama Revisited

On a tip, I’ve tried reworking some old “Brenizer method” panoramas with AutoPano Pro. It’s not perfect, but it’s very good, and gets right some panoramas that Photoshop did not. But what I most like is that I can set up a batch to do a bunch of panoramas at once, and then go take a nap or answer e-mails or something. Anything that makes the stitching process easier will make me want to shoot these more and more, and one of my goals for 2010 is to really see what sorts of ways I can push the envelope on this ball I got rolling. Also, I want to mix new and exciting metaphors.

Original shoot here.

Dany - I luv Stephanie and the photos you make of her!

Sam Hurd - autopano pro was the first thing i used when i started trying your panos. i’ve had MUCH better luck with it than i ever did with cs4

Norby - Ah, that’s good to know – I’ve had some “Brenizer method” panos that I just could not get to come together (either via PS or APP) because of the lack of sufficient distinguishing details in the out-of-focus areas (such as, say, huge swathes of blue sky). I guess that’s not so much of a problem in the city :)

That gives me renewed faith to let APP have a go at more of the panos that I’ve shot, but never processed. In fact, I don’t think I have a single processed one on flickr to date.

Matthias Wassermann - Autopano Pro is quiet a good software it hardly ever lets me down. Even Handheld images are stitched flawlessly like my Pano of Time Square: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mawas/3856149880/in/set-72157594400282808/ which was taken handheld.

Ryan Brenizer - Cs4 is pretty bad.

Matilda "Tilly" Beezley - Pwhaor, easily the best bokehrama I’ve seen. I love people who put fairy lights in trees just so us photographers can turn them into circles of confusion. Gorgeous shot!!
