Photo of the Day: And Here is the Steeple…

I took this with a point-and-shoot camera while on an 18-hour vacation in Cold Spring, NY. If your point-and-shoot has manual control, you can get a lot out of it by forcing it to do what what you want, including using extreme underexposure to change the nature of a scene.

Ryan Brenizer - Sorry Steve, didn’t mean to delete your comment. A plug-in caused corruption in the post.

Mark Parker - Isn’t it wonderful!! Some people think it takes an expensive camera to take an impressive photo. I’ve been shooting the Canon G5 for several months and have easily transferred my DSLR knowledge. Full manual control on ANY camera will let you take stunning photos. Great Job!

Kirsten - My goodness, I go on the road for a few days and you take one of the most amazing pics I’ve ever seen with a point and shoot. Shocker. Well done yet again Ryan, this is amazing!!

Eric Kotara - What a great way to make/ hammer home a point, Ryan. Image quality may be one thing, but control (manual control) is what it really is about. This is one reason I like watching the development of the EVIL cameras as they seem to bridge the quality and control issues rather well.
